So maybe I watch too much Jeopardy

To bring you this fabulous opportunity! Suzette and Bethany are having a contest over at their blog, "Shooting Stars." In fact, it's a Fantabulous Followers Giveaway!

Prizes include a 40-page partial submission PLUS a critique of those pages from Suzie Townsend, literary agent extraordinaire with FinePrintLit! Plus books, swag, and candy! Who doesn't love candy?

So hop on over to their blog and enter, while I return to the hole that I've been hiding in. :)

Awards Week

It's Oscars week, which means very little to me since I have seen so few movies. It's sad really. But the timing is fitting because I've been given two blog awards!

The first, the Creative Writer Award, is from Laura Diamond and is meant to be given to those bloggers who represent what it means to be a writer. Laura is a wonderfully supportive writer friend and so, in that spirit, I've chosen to give it to five other bloggers whose support has been so amazing:

1) Elana Johnson at Mindless Musings
2) Rebecca Knight: Writer in Progress
3) Lydia Kang at The Word is My Oyster
4) Christine Fonseca at The Musings of Christine Fonseca
5) Mary Lindsey at Mary Lindsey's Weblog

Here are the rules: "Please accept the ‘Creative Writer Award’ with no strings attached. You can post it within an awards page, sidebar, or new post; you can link it to me and pass it on to writers you know who host writing blogs, or you can simply read this note with my thanks attached and do nothing further. This is just intended as a gesture to further the premise ‘writer’ within ‘blogger.’ I’d love to see more writers acknowledged for the craft! Because we all are writers."

The second, the Silver Lining Award, is from Deb Salisbury. Deb, too, is a wonderful friend who I'm lucky to know, especially for her fabulous sense of humor and kind words of support. The rules tell me to pass this on to five bloggers, and I've decided to choose bloggers who's posts always make me laugh, since this is, after all, about the silver lining. Here they are, in no particular order:

1) Carrie Harris
2) Lisa and Laura Roeker at Lisa and Laura Write
3) Abby Schmidt at Drivels of an Aspiring Urban Fantasy Writer
4) Frankie at Frankie Writes
5) Suzette and Bethany at Shooting Stars

And, with that, I'm signing off, going unplugged, what have you. Just for a week, maybe two. But I've got to finish my WIP (and I'm so close!) and I've got about a billion other things going on this month. So I need to regroup.

So while I'm gone, how about telling me what you hope March brings for you?
