Potent Potables

So maybe I watch too much Jeopardy

New Year's Eve is one of my least favorite holidays, but this time around, I'm really looking forward to the start of a new year. 2009 has, in large part, been wonderful. I wrote a novel, started four more, made some amazing friends, got a promotion at work, and started my search for a literary agent.

I also read 97 books in 2009. Not including books for work. I don't know about you, but that kind of blows my mind. When did I find the time? Anyway, here are my faves (note: not all came out this year and they are in no order of preferrence):

1) Fablehaven by Brandon Mull
2) City of Glass by Cassandra Clare
3) Graceling by Kristin Cashore
4) The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
5) Gone by Michael Grant
6) The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

I'm hopeful that 2010 will be the year I actually sign with an agent and finish at least one (if not two or three) of my novels. I don't make resolutions because I've never kept one (never!), but this year, that's my goal: finish at least one novel and continue looking for an agent.

What's your goal for 2010? Any favorite books of yours that I missed?

(And a P.S.: Happy Birthday, Evan!)

My goal for 2010 is to finish a fourth novel, maybe a fifth and secure an agent! I have a good dozen projects waiting to be opened and worked on!

Thanks for commenting, Stephanie! I hope you meet your goals! I'm also super impressed that you have a dozen open projects. I hope one or more strikes inspiration in you in 2010!

Happy New Year!
