Ok, so I've been slacking over the last week because, well, life gets in the way. But, as promised, here are photos from the amazing YA author event at Books of Wonder last week featuring Suzanne Collins, Kristine Cashore, Justine Larbalestier, Scott Westerfeld, and Libba Bray! (Michael Grant was supposed to come, but got sick and couldn't fly. I was bummed. And not just because I lugged his two massive books GONE and HUNGER with me to have signed.)
So here is the panel:
And invidual shots of the authors speaking:
Libba Bray
Each author gave a short description of his/her new book, which was delightful and a great learning experience! Then they took questions from the audience. I can't lie: it was largely skewed toward Suzanne Collins, but how could it not be, really? She's amazing! And she's brilliant and clever and, well, I could sing her praises for days, really. And no, she did not give any hints about how The Hunger Games trilogy is going to end. (Choose Peeta!)
Scott Westerfeld was just as funny as I'd expected him to be, but his slide show of art from LEVIATHAN was fabulously entertaining (and impressive!). Libba Bray and Justine Larbalestier make me want to be friends with more writers because they are clearly fabulous friends who have an amazing time together. And, of course, last but certainly not least: Kristin Cashore is the sweetest, most adorable woman ever. I love her. And I just finished FIRE, which was so good! It's no GRACELING (alas, no Po, but there is romance!), but it's still incredible. I'll post my review when I get my life back in order.
So go read all the books from these authors!! I have not purchased LIAR or GOING BOVINE yet, but Christmas is coming!

Sounds amazing, thanks for sharing!!! They are all amazing, but I'm right there with you on Suzanne Collins. The Hunger Games is in my favorite books of all time. Still waiting on Catching Fire as my revision completion reward and I only started Graceling (yay, found Kristin grew up in the same small town I'm from!)and can't wait to finish that and get Fire and then check out Leviathian. I'm a huge Uglies fan!
You are one lucky lady for attending such an awesome event. ; )
